Lift a hoof and make a difference to your horse today!
The SURE FOOT® Equine Stability Program is your horse’s path to improved performance, comfort and confidence. Developed by internationally known riding instructor Wendy Murdoch, the official SURE FOOT pads are specifically designed for use with horses by horse owners, riders, trainers and equine body workers.
When a SURE FOOT pad is placed under your horse’s hoof, he will begin to experiment with the way he stands. You’ll often note that your horse will sway back and forth, shift his weight, drop his head, and go into “grazing mode.” When your horse leaves the pad(s), he will continue his experiment. This exploration and discovery of a better, easier, more efficient movement patterns enables him to break long-standing habits you have struggled with for years. With SURE FOOT your horse will discover a more comfortable, efficient way of moving in minutes!
The SURE FOOT Program and Pads give you the tools to make a profound different to your horse. By following the instructions contained in the DVD you provide your horse with the opportunity to become self-aware of his posture, stance and movement. Watch as he explores his weight on each hoof, calms himself and moves with great ease and efficiency with or without the weight of a rider. Your horse will thank you for offering him SURE FOOT!
You can learn more about the SURE FOOT Program.**
SURE FOOT Half Physiopad (12 x 16 x 1.5) is half the size of the SURE FOOT Full Physiopad with has two working surfaces: 1″ SURE FOOT Hard, and 1/2″ SURE FOOT Medium.
The SURE FOOT Half Physiopad has no rebound (bounce back) and is similar to bare ground when initially stepped on giving slowly to heat and pressure. As the horse stands on the pad the effects become visible with the horse relaxing and able to stand quietly as when being trimmed or shod. When the horse steps off the Hard side and imprint of the hoof will remain for a short period of time. This gives you a visual as to how the horse habitual stands on that hoof. You can see the weight bearing surfaces and the level of indentation indicates whether there is even or uneven distribution of weight on those areas. This can assist in determining proper trim and shoeing, and developing a rehabilitation program to improve weight distribution and balance while at the same time, retraining the habitual posture patterns.
“I am a firm believer in the SURE FOOT® Equine Stability Program. The Physiopad has helped several of my client’s horses and as a farrier I believe this in my business as well. I have used this on horses with side bone, navicular, founder and several other issues. Thanks for this product!” – Jeff Stubblefield, Master Farrier for 47 year
Warning: When introducing horses to the Physio Pad be sure they are not on cross-ties until it is clear the horse is comfortable with the pad.
Two Working Surfaces
Our exclusive proprietary DuraFlex surface coating is flexible, extending the life of the pads and can be easily cleaned with soap and water. The DuraFlex color allows you to easily identify the different pads at a glance.*
The foam used in the SURE FOOT pads is also used in products that protect some of the world’s top athletes and is exclusively available to us in these forms.
The SURE FOOT pads have been designed and tested by Wendy Murdoch, originator of the SURE FOOT® Equine Stability Program. They are safe to use around your horse, are made from environmentally friendly materials as much as possible, and are assembled here in the USA. You know it’s a genuine SURE FOOT pad because all of our pads carry the SURE FOOT® logo.
Pads are warranted against breakage (cuts, minor slices, dents or bites are considered normal wear and tear) and delamination of either the pad or DuraFlex coating. Do not leave your Firm pads in an enclosed car or trailer or direct sunlight for extended periods of time with the charcoal surface upward. Excessive heat may cause alterations in the foam. You may notice a permanent hoof impression on the uncoated side in high heat. This will affect the appearance of pad however it does not affect the pads performance.
*When using the pads in a cold environment (below 40°F or 4° C) use the uncoated surface. The DuraFlex surface stiffens slightly in cold temperatures and may crack. This type of blemish does not affect the function or performance of the pad, simply the look.
Other SURE FOOT pads include: Firm, Soft, Medium, Hard (Impression) and Slant. The SURE FOOT Program can be combined with other modalities of equine bodywork and training.
Be sure to familiarize yourself with the SURE FOOT instructional DVD before starting this program with your horse. If there is any medical issues please consult your veterinarian before beginning SURE FOOT to be sure this program is right for your horse.
They are made of as much environmentally friendly material as possible, designed and tested by Wendy Murdoch, carry the official SURE FOOT Logo and are assembled in the State of Maine, USA.
Uses the same foam as the hard pads and is cut into a wedge shape providing an angled surface that fully supports the hoof while allowing for the experience of toe or heel loading.
Can be used with horses of any size, weight or breed. Variation in the pads density provides different degrees of firmness each providing a different experience for the horse.
Durability: The Official SURE FOOT pads have been designed and tested to hold up under the demands of use with horses in any environment. While they are not impervious to damage (tears and cuts) they will continue to service the horse even is somewhat damaged by the horse’s hooves. Therefore the benefits of the SURE FOOT program can be offered to the average horse owner for (in many cases) the cost of one shoeing. Offering the horse and horse owner a long-term use to aid in improvement of overall health.
Warranted against delamination of the DuraFlex coating and/or pad layers.
Stackable: SURE FOOT pads can be combined to stack layers generally two high but in instance three pads high. Stacking allows the person to give the horse an experience that matches the habit patterns in the body. Horses will not stand on stacked pads unless they wish to, you cannot force this on the horse as they will slip the pads to be lower if so desired. However, stacking allows the horse to experience limb differential and in many cases is beneficial to establishing a more normal, balanced posture and movement.
Pads can be use to benefit the horse pre-exercise, post-exercise, during a training session to improve and enhance performance, recovery from injury while stall bound or in limited movement, reset proprioceptors to reestablish normal patterns of movement, calming for any breed horse in any discipline, improve overall well being of horse and owner, improve relationship between horse and owner as the owner is recognized by the horse as the one who brought the comfort.
