Riding with Awareness: An Introduction to Connected Riding & the Tellington TTouch

Learn how to become more harmonious with your horse while in the saddle. Un-mounted Rider Awareness exercises, pre-riding bodywork techniques and gymnasticizing groundwork exercises lead to mindful riding lessons make this clinic a fun filled learning experience. Help yourself and your horse let go of bracing patterns and release tension by finding a more functional “neutral” way of being. Use one of the farm’s many trustworthy horses or bring your own. Limited to 6 riders.

Cette Clinique est une introduction au TTouch pour chevaux. Elle peut être prise seule pour être mise en pratique immédiatement ou compter pour la certification TTouch pour chevaux (si vous faites les 3 jours). Une attestation de participation sera remise à tous les participants.

La méthode Tellington TTouch part du principe qu’il y a un lien direct entre l’équilibre physique, mental et émotionnel, un influençant l’autre; un déséquilibre émotionnel peut se percevoir dans la façon dont le cheval se tient et la posture habituelle d’un cheval peut affecter sa performance et même sa capacité à se concentrer. La douleur peut affecter le caractère, qui n’est pas plus grognon quand il /elle a mal au dos ou à la tête? En aidant le cheval à relâcher les tensions avec les TTouchers et en l’amenant à devenir plus conscient de son corps, nous pouvons influencer le caractère et le comportement.

Nous ajoutons ensuite la deuxième et très importante composante:  le travail en mouvement au sol (ou à pied) où l’on réapprend au cheval à bouger d’une façon légèrement différente  pour éviter que les tensions et mauvaises postures reviennent.  Tous les aspects  de la méthode contribuent à l’amélioration du travail en selle et à approfondir la confiance et la compréhension mutuelle.

The 26th Annual Tellington TTouch Training at the Bitterroot Ranch combines spectacular setting, beautiful horses, unparalleled learning and the fun camaraderie of a premier guest ranch. Learn the easy, effective, respectful and safe way to start or re-educate a horse. Using one of the ranch’s un-started youngsters or a seasoned ranch mount with a specific issue. Work in cooperative groups, guiding several horses through the steps to becoming a safe riding horse. The foundations of the Tellington TTouch Method are put into practice as you learn the techniques. The TTouch Bodywork helps build trust and release tension, TTouch Ground Exercises, including ground driving, improves balance, coordination, and responsiveness and the Playground of Higher Learning helps teach horses how to act rather than react. These steps prepare the horses for their first time under saddle or provides a previously started horse with a new, positive outlook on working with people. Counts towards Tellington TTouch Practitioner status.

Tellington TTouch Method for Horses

The Tellington Method includes body and movement work to reduce stress and tension, encourage focus, and improve behaviour, performance and well-being. You may come with or without your horse – in either case you will have lots of hands-on experience, and have a lot of fun!

The three days can apply to the requirements for certification as a Tellington TTouch Practitioner. Practitioners can attend three days as a certification update.

This course includes Connected Riding sessions that are complimentary to the Tellington TTouch work on the ground. Use one of the farm’s horses or bring your own. See what beginners and Olympic riders alike have discovered about the power of TTouch! Counts towards Tellington TTouch Practitioner status. Limited to 12 riders.

Improve your horse’s posture to carry your weight more easily. Learn posture that helps your horse move. Peggy Cummings will transform how you ride. She is a conductor of information that changes how people ride, how they feel in their bodies, and how they perceive their horses and life in general. She is an innovator: a creator of exercises designed to help horse and human dance together easily, efficiently, and effectively. She is a master rider and teacher, and has the same passion and perseverance for her mission now as when she began it over 40 years ago.
