Icelandic Trail Riding Experience

September 19, 2020 @ 9:00 am - September 21, 2020 @ 5:00 pm

Two Icelandic horses ridden in a lake.

Teacher: Mandy Pretty, Connected Riding Associate Instructor & Tellington TTouch Instructor

Location: Vernon (Coldstream), BC at the Icelandic Horse Farm

Brand new for 2020, we are excited for this unique 3 day experience.  Learn how to become more harmonious with your horse “off piste”, exploring the varied trails around the farm and the local area, like Kalamalka Provincial Park and Timber Ridge Trails.  Enjoy the amazing temperament, smooth gaits, and unparalleled character of the Icelandic Horse in their favorite environment, exploring the trail!

Riding one of our wonderful farm ambassadors, you will enjoy the spectacular local scenery, feel the thrill of brisk gallops, and gain an appreciation for the Icelandic horse’s smooth natural gaits.

In addition to a great deal of fun, Connected Riding concepts will help yourself and your horse let go of bracing patterns and release tension by finding a more functional “neutral” way of being.

The intimate group setting allow for great learning flexibility.  In addition to the trail you will have to option of exploring any number of subjects from TTouch bodywork, Connected work in hand, the Surefoot Equine Stability Program, trail obstacles, basic jumping and more, depending on the interests of the group.

End your days in the saddle with one of Mandy’s legendary cheese/charcuterie boards and a cold glass of local wine, or other cold beverage of your choice.

Beautiful homemade snacks and lunches are included.

Not suitable for beginners however we will always keep the rides within the comfort zone of everyone’s abilities.  Riders should be comfortable riding at all gaits and have ridden out of an arena.  For our horse’s well-being, we have a 180lbs weight limit for all riders.
